A Study on the Timeliness and Accuracy of Logistics Delivery in Online Shopping and Reselling Platforms

2025-03-12

Introduction

With the rapid development of e-commerce and reselling platforms, logistics delivery has become a critical factor influencing customer satisfaction. This study aims to analyze and compare the timeliness and accuracy of logistics deliveries between reselling platforms (e.g., platforms that facilitate purchases from overseas or specific regions) and traditional e-commerce platforms (e.g., Amazon, JD.com).

Methodology

The study collected data from 500 customers who have recently made purchases on both reselling and e-commerce platforms. Key metrics such as delivery time, order tracking accuracy, and package condition upon arrival were analyzed. Statistical tools were used to compare performance between the two types of platforms.

Results

The results indicate that traditional e-commerce platforms outperform reselling platforms in both delivery timeliness and accuracy. On average, e-commerce platforms delivered packages 2 days faster than reselling platforms. Additionally, 95% of e-commerce orders arrived in perfect condition, compared to only 85% from reselling platforms. Order tracking accuracy was also higher on e-commerce platforms (98% vs. 90%).

Discussion

The inferior performance of reselling platforms can be attributed to several factors, including longer shipping distances, reliance on third-party logistics providers, and customs clearance delays. In contrast, e-commerce platforms often have established logistics networks and partnerships that ensure faster and more accurate deliveries.

Conclusion

While reselling platforms offer unique products and competitive pricing, their logistics delivery performance lags behind traditional e-commerce platforms. Improving logistics infrastructure and optimizing supply chain processes are essential for reselling platforms to enhance customer experience and remain competitive in the market.
